Nevermind the question.  I found that I can search for '*' to return everything in a db.

Hello,

I am very new to htdig, and I would like to find out what the total number of documents is in an existing document database.  Is there a standard mechanism for doing this (I notice that htdig does not allow boolean searches to start with 'not')?

Thanks,
