According to Kwan Chee Kin: > I did what you advised. It did show something like it is getting > information from www.htdig.org. Should it be doing something like this?
It will index http://www.htdig.org/ by default if you don't change the start_url attribute in your htdig.conf file. See http://www.htdig.org/config.html and http://www.htdig.org/attrs.html#start_url > It did say that it finished. So what's the next step to test on Htdig? Do I > need to do a htmerge? That depends on how you did the indexing. If you use rundig, it runs htdig and then htmerge automatically. If you run htdig manually, then you have to run htmerge afterward. (You can run htmerge again a second time without doing any harm, but there's no point in doing this.) See http://www.htdig.org/running.html However, if you didn't even index what you wanted to index in the first place, there's really no need to go further until you fix your htdig.conf file and start over with htdig or rundig. On the other hand, if you want to continue testing after having indexed the htdig.org web site, go ahead. > Btw, do u mind if I ask are you working for HTDig? In a sense, yes. All ht://Dig maintenance is done by volunteers, as stated in http://www.htdig.org/FAQ.html#q1.4, 1.5 and 1.16. However, the ht://Dig Group doesn't employ anybody, if that's what you're asking. I don't get paid for the work I do on this project. -- Gilles R. Detillieux E-mail: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Spinal Cord Research Centre WWW: http://www.scrc.umanitoba.ca/ Dept.
