[htdig] Multiple noindex_start/end

I saw that a patch was developped in the htdig-dev forum to allow multiple noindex_start/end. Has anyone tested it? Is there another solution for this? I dont realy like the idea of patching htdig, that's why i ask the question :) Thanks
