I havn't seen this happen myself.  Nor have I come across .ppt or .xls files which seem to cause looping processes, as distinct from merely taking a long time to complete.  It might be that htdig is truncating the documents at the max_doc_size limit, and it is this which is causing the problem.   I suggest that you identify the offending documents and try running the original files themselves against pptHtml on the command line, so as to eliminate htdig from the equation.  If the files do cause pptHtml to loop then please report this to the author.    -- David Adams Computing Services Southampton University ----- Original Message ----- From: Bryan C.
