Hi. I've recently set up a small file server for our wintel users, sharing files with samba.
I've set up HTdig on the server as well with the needed extras to index MS word documents, so the users can access the server via http and look for files. I set up filesystem browsing in Apache, so files could be accessed trough http, and htdig could index them. All in all it seems to work fine, but thre's a thing I can't get to work : doing searches on numbers. If there is for instance a MS word document called "document 2548 john doe manufacturing report.doc" it will show up on a search for "john" , "doe", "document" , "report" , "manufacturing" , but NOT "2548". The same goes for numerals contained in the document itself (as opposed as to contained in the document's filename and title). I tried various searches on numbers, and always get 'no matches'. I'm sure I missed something both simple and obvious here, but I can't find any info about it in the man pages, nor on google. Can anyone help ?
