I'd recommend trying the latest 3.2.0b4 snapshot from http://www.htdig.org/files/snapshots/ There was a bug in the query parser in 3.2.0b3, which would cause it to fail on phrases containing short words (less than minimum_word_length). Usually this caused htsearch to abort, but it may be that in your case the same bug is causing an incomplete query to be searched. -- Gilles R.
