According to Robert W Compher: > We have installed the latest version of htdig, but we are having trouble > using the search with dashes (i.e. ds-00-002513) tries to search as > ds00002513 . Is there any way for htdig to accomplish this?
It tries to search for ds00002513, because that's how the number is put into the word index. All characters in valid_punctuation are stripped out. So, you will get a match. The only problem is you may have some "false positive" matches as well, because something like ds0-0002-513 will also be indexed as ds00002513. If this is a real problem, you may want to take the hyphen character out of valid_punctuation, and put it in extra_word_characters instead.
