You should be able to simply replace the header.html
and footer.html files in the 'common' directory.

Check out the configuration options that you can set
at the htdig.org website. You can add/change these
settings in the htdig.conf file (or in a separate
config file if you are using different configurations.

Specifically, search_results_header allows you to
specify an alternate html file. (and also explains the
default file that is used). You can find complete
details at the link above.
