Hello everybody,

first of all thanx for this great pieceof software!
Second: I am new to htdig and also not familiar with Linux, but want to learn it together with some folks at school. So we set up a web- and fileserver at my home that is behind a NAT/firewall/router so it can't be accessed from the intranet using its FQDN only using 192.168.xxx.xxx .
Thanks to IP forwarding on the router the server can be accessed via FQDN from the internet.
What we would like to do is: using htdig to index all the docs and manpages, HOWTOs, etc. on this machine and make them search and readable from the internet. I managed to index these files locally (http://localhost/), and I can access www.mydomain.org/search and I can even search and find, but results refer to localhost and so cannot be displayed.
I KNOW this has been discussed already but unfortunetaly I am unable to fully understand what has been said, please don't hurt me!
What I do understand is that it has to do with url_part_aliases, local_urls_only: true; maybe also server_aliases? I think I understood that I have to have two different files for htdig and for htsearch, but I can only find htdig.conf in my /etc/htdig directory.
(I am running Debian woody 2.2.20 and installed htdig via dselect).
Do I have to recompile htdig myself, or do have to write my own htsearch.conf and if so, where do I put it and how does htdig find it (via "include: htsearch.conf" in htdig.conf ?) ?
Hope you can help me,
Thanx in advance

K. Werner
