Hi htdig community,

we highly appreciate the power of htdig, especially
the fuzzy-search features. We get reasonably good
results for soundex searches even for German search
queries.

However, we feel that some kind of adjustable
similarity-threshold attribute for soundex and maybe
other fuzzy algorithms would be quite helpful.

Consider the soundex weight you can tune down in
the search_algorithm attribute. However, that's a weight
relative to the exact-matching result. If, then, there
are no exact matchings, the soundex-expanded queries
are always displayed due to some fixed similarity threshold
in the algorithm.

Here, from an usability point of view, a possible restriction
to VERY similar terms would be helpful so that the user
might not wonder about the relevancy of his search results.

Do anybody know a way or workaround to achieve this?

Yours,

Christoph
