Hello all,
I searched newsgroups for an external parser for zip files and found nothing. I did, however, find many requests for this feature. I have now written one that works wonderfully well for our site. It actually extracts the zip to a temporary location, opens each file with doc2html.pl, spits out the resulting HTML for htdig to index, then removes the temporary uncompressed content. It is a perl script called zip2html.pl that is meant for use with doc2html.pl. I have included a zip file that has the zip2html.pl script and a modified doc2html.pl script that includes the sections required for zip functionality.
