The point of the configure script and the CONFIG file (in 3.1 releases) is
to allow you to install ht://Dig whereever you want.

I should point out one thing. You really may not want to have installed
inside your website root, as this means your config files, databases,
etc. will all be available to be served up remotely by the webserver. This
would allow potential attacks on the server using the information in the
databases. (I mention this, in part, because some service providers will
get very annoyed if you open information like config files in this
manner.)

Since you have installed into a directory that's not a standard
program directory, you'll need to call rundig like this:

/path/to/rundig [options]

As for the sample search form, it assumes that the htsearch CGI
program has been set up to be executed properly by your webserver
under the path /cgi-bin/htsearch

You may need to make sure the htsearch CGI is in the proper location
and edit the search.html page appropriately. This would depend
considerably upon your webserver configuration, so I can't really help
you there.
