Subject: [htdig] "-" character
Hello
We are running htdig 1.3.6. When we run rundig and
create databases files for our websites we have problem with indexing html
files in the subdirectory which name "k-si".
rundig didin't index this directory and in search form we didin't find any
information from WEB pages included in subdirectory "k-si" .
We suppose !
If the name of subdirectory contain "-" character then rundig don't index
this subdirectory.
Can you help me!.
Most regards
I. Meyer
Hi,
I would think it is more likely that there is no link for Ht://Dig to follow into this
dir rather than a charecter limitation. As a matter of fact, on our site, I have over
120 subdirs and all but about 10 of them are named something like "OS-02" or "PD-99".
They contain over 500,000 PDF files which all index just fine.
You may want to check your webserver indexing functions (Fancy Indexing in Apache) and
maybe point to that dir explicitly in your htdig.conf file and try running dig to see
what happens. Also make sure that the appropriate rights are set in the httpd.conf
file (assuming Apache) for that dir as well as file system rights. Once you get it
working while pointed right at that dir, widen your scope in the htdig.conf file and
try again. You will have to have webserver indexing running or have a static link in
an html doc for every file you want indexed. If it is at all dynamic, this gets to be
a real pain.
Hope that helps.
