For those who are interested, I've now updated my template making script.
It's at: http://xtrinsic.com/scripting/template.txt

The script now has a couple of regular expressions to take a page from
your web site and make all the relative links into absolute links so that
the file can be used on a different server. (It does image links too.) I
have a copy of this file in my html template directory and run it as the
first step in every crawl. This makes sure the search results templates
are sync-ed to the actual site.

You'll need to have perl and wget installed to use this script.
