Just to clarify: I have "exclude" strings that are in my search form and "exclude" strings in my .conf file. It appears as though having exclude as URL parameters/form options overrides whatever's in the config file as opposed to adding to the values set in the config file.
http://htdig.org/hts_form.html says that the "default is specified by the exclude attribute in the configuration file" ... which I think means you get the config file values OR you get the form values, but not both?
