I use htdig3.1.6. What should I do if I want to make thesearch engine can search any files based on last modified date?

The standard search form includes a drop down labeled "Sort by:". This can be used to present results sorted by time, either in forward or reverse order. If you trying to limit searches to certain date ranges, see the startyear, startmonth, startday, endyear, endmonth, and endday attributes. For example,

  http://www.htdig.org/attrs.html#endyear

These values can also be specified from the search form. See http://www.htdig.org/hts_form.html
