Hi, nop, i have put a search input into my page, sent to the htdig prog.
located in my cgi/bin directory, is that the one that gives the 404 message.
I have checked my httpd.conf to see if cgis are well defined and they are,
so , I have no clue about it

Are you getting the 404 when you submit a query from the search page? 
If so, then check the 'action' attribute of the 'form' element in your 
search.html file. It sounds like there is a problem with the URL 
specified by that attribute.
