According to Adam Lipson:

Those error messages don't look at all familiar to me, and aren't part of
the standard ht://Dig package.  The nightly_htdig script is part of the
mailman package's archiving subsystem, as far as I can tell, so perhaps
you should look into the mailman-users mailing list:
