I am trying to enable searching on + symbols and am not having any luck so far....
I added the following to my config file:
extra_word_characters: +
I didn't change valid punctuation.
$ QUERY_STRING="method=and&words=VMS+UNIX"...
$ QUERY_STRING="method=and&words=VMS&043;UNIX"
For URL encoding you need to use a '%' followed by the hex representation. Try the following.
$ QUERY_STRING="method=and&words=VMS%2BUNIX"
