I am running htdig 3.1.6 on a Sun RaQ550 server. On my last rundig session I got 3 files with this error message:

for htdig to be able to process content of PDF file you have to use external parser = some utility which will convert PDF to htdig processable format (html or plain text). And it seems that external converter found in "340RedlineBrochure.pdf" file some problematic places when trying to convert it. It might be pdftotext, pstotext ...
You might want to look into htdig.conf file to see which converter you use and run it from command line to be sure error message was generated there.
So in general, if that's the case, conversion itself might be ok, only your PDF file is partly damaged or its structures are not fully compliant with Adobe standard.
