[htdig] UTF-8 Charset and Fedora Core 1 problems

Hi, I'm using htdig-3.2.0-19.20030601 in my Fedora Core 1 and I've problems when I try to index a spanish website. I can't search words with accents (like "podría") and htdig convert this word to something like "podr~Aa". How can I fix this issue?
