Ideally we would like to have two separate pages, which use two separate
databases - one for all pages and one for internal web pages. Does

The databases used and the pages indexed can be managed through the configuration file. If you create a separate configuration file for each case that you need to support, you can pass those configuration files to the various ht://Dig executables as appropriate. The command line tools can be passed a particular configuration file by way of the -c option. For the search pages, you provide the configuration file using something like <input type="hidden" name="config" value="htdig">
