Hi;
I'm having a small problem getting the title_factor to work.
We are very disciplined about using page titles and how they're phrased, so I thought
this would be a prime candidate to help document weighting.
Currently, title_factor is the only factor I'm using in my .conf files (3 sites
indexed together but using a different .conf via the form hidden inputs on each site).
I had some others (text_factor, heading_factor_*'s), but commented them out to
concentrate on the title. Here's an example of my problem:
I have a page with a title of <title>Division Name - Help Page</title>.
When I search, matching "Any," the Help page comes up 11th. If I use quotes ("help
page"), it moves up to 3rd.
But I have title_factor: jacked up to 900!! Why isn't this page first?
It even has the occurrence of the word "help" several more times than any other page.
When I had the text_factor on (set to 700), that didn't help in this case.
I've made sure of typos and can't find anywhere I might be overriding myself, and I've
been sure to reindex the sites. Any thoughts?
Greatly appreciated! :o)
