Performance is a known issue with 3.2. It is still in beta and the majority of recent development effort has been focused on functionality and stability. Working through performance issues is a current priority.

Solaris specific? Does it run better under Linux, should I be looking for possible memory

We had a similar problem and for that reason I decided not to install
htdig 3.2. It was a while ago so I don't remember the exactly how long
the indexing took, but I stopped it after hours and hours.

Afternoon all.

I've installed htdig 3.2 beta 5 for it's phrase matching
abilities. Searching in general
seems better. It immediately indexed a few pages that for some reason

didn't show in 3.1.6
and the phrase matching works nicely. Thanks to all involved.

However... ;) Indexing is very slow, it's taking 6 hours to index
approx
20,000 pages as opposed
to an hour or two under 3.1.6

It's running on a Sun Ultra 60 (Solaris 2.8) about 60% cpu usage. I
didn't
keep an eye on memory
usage.

Any thoughts on speeding it up? Are others seeing similar problems?
(My
server_wait_time is 0 )

Cheers,
        Duncan
