I am trying run ht://Dig 3.2.0b5 on Win 2003 under Cygwin 1.5.7-1 using gcc 3.3.1-3 and I can get everything to compile. Furthermore, htdig runs and creates the database files:
db.docdb 56kb
db.docs.index 24kb
db.excerpts 400kb
db.words.db 0kb

From what I understand about ht://Dig, htmerge is supposed to create the
db.words.db file, but it runs with no output and doesn't change the db.words.db file. I've set -vv and I still get no output. I believe db.words.db being 0kb is what causes my htsearch to fail with a message about the db.words.db: unexpected file type or format . If I mess up the htdig.conf file, by using wordpad to edit it, htmerge.exe does through errors.

Any help would be appreciated. Also, if anyone has gotten ht://Dig 3.2.0b5 to run under cygwin, I would appreciate knowing that.
