[htdig] Calling htdig.conf to different server

Hi        Due to lack of space, i have built the database in one server. Is it possible that if htdig.conf can be called to the server where the database has been built?  I mean instead of calling the 'htdig.conf' in the same server it will call the same in a different server... If this is possible then i could solve the space problem.. The search site i can't move , it has to be there in the production server.. But in the production server there is NOT MUCH SPACE where i can keep the merged database.. Suggessions/advice is really appreciated. Thanks -Tinni
