i have any single DB's generated by version 3.2.0b4
Now i have updated to version 3.2.0b6 after a server crash.
I could recover the 3.2.0b4 databases from backup tapes an will use this with the new version.
But if i start htsearch i got error
WordDB: CDB_mem_cmpr_read: unable to uncompress page at pgno = 1
... run database recovery.....

What can i do to use the old db's with the new version.

As you have already discovered, the databases generated by different versions of htdig are not generally compatible. If you really need to preserve the content of the old databases, you might try using a 3.2.0b4
version of htdump to dump the databases to text and a 3.2.0b6 version of
htload to reload them. I am not certain that this will work, but I would
expect it to do so if the text format of htdump hasn't changed between
the two versions. The file formats are specified in the documentation for
htdump, so it would be easy enough to compare if you still have the b4
package floating around. Even if there are minor differences, you might
be able to deal with those since everything will be in plain text.
