Greets Everyone- I have recently downloaded/compiled and installed htdig on an Apple Xserve. The only problem seems to be getting the initial database going. I followed all the docs to set up htdig.conf. The only thing out of the ordinary is that I am using a file for start_url because each document doesn't link to the next. I run rundig for the first time, it seems to run htdig -i, and then htnotify, and it also creates files in the htdig/db/ directory, but the htnotify never seems to end. At first, I thought it was due to the number of documents I am trying to index (over 500,000). I gave it 8 hours, but it never finished.
Next, I changed the file I am using for start_url to only include 100 pages, and it has been running for over 2 hours so far. I tried the -vvv flags and got some verbosity... but it seems to have stopped, as the screen hasn't updated, but the process is still chewing up CPU and RAM. I am showing no new activity in my apache logs, and the db files have a time stamp from about an hour ago. This is the last line the terminal shows from the window I ran "rundig -vvv" from: 100/http://www.domain.com/archives/lists/2002/Nov/msg00003.html I am using htdig 3.1.6, and this is running on Mac OS X server v10.3. Any help would be greatly appreciated! -Aaron ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: YOU BE THE JUDGE.
