I seem to recall this type of problem being reported in the past for older versions of Red Hat, though I can't find a reference at the moment. But it is definitely a documented issue. The following describes the output truncation problem and notes that their update closes a bug report involving truncation on 4k boundaries.

I think that the problem was something external to ht://Dig (a supporting library maybe?) and I don't recall this issue being reported for any other platforms.
