Hello, I recently upgraded my search server to a 64 bit X86 platform running Gentoo. Before the upgrade I was running htdig 3.1.6 on a Pentium three running Gentoo and it worked fine albeit a bit slowly.
After the upgrade I recompiled htdig 3.1.6 on the 64 bit machine, but it was not able to create an index nor bind to the old indexes. The solution was to upgrade to htdig 3.2.0b6 but this caused another set of problems (see other email). Is it possible to run htdig 3.1.6 on a 64 bit X86 machine? I found this patch https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=110009 but I have not tried it yet. If all else fails I will try compiling htdig 3.1.6 as a 32 bit binary and running it in 32 bit mode on the 64 bit machine. Has anyone had success running htdig 3.1.6 on a 64 bit X86 machine?
