Thanks for the list pointer, Brian. I too need to apply this patch to
index URLs with spaces in them.
However, when I download the patch and open it, I was unsure if this
looks like an appropriate patch file because it has some e-mail portions
in it and some of the code has a "!" at the beginning of the line. I do
have a development server with htdig, so I tried applying it there using
this three step process
1) Apply ftp://ftp.ccsf.org/htdig-patches/3.1.6/fileSpace.1
change to htdig-3.1.6 source directory, and run
patch -p0 < /added-specific-pathto/fileSpace.1
2) Set allow_space_in_url to true in your config file
3) and re-index
I am getting an error during step 1. I think my problem is that I
installed an RPM of htdig which is already compiled. Do I have to apply
this patch before compiling? I am unsure where the "htdig-3.1.6 source
directory" is. When I do a "Locate" command to find "htdig-3.1.6" I only
see the htdig docs directory. I changed to the directory /usr/bin where
the htdig, htnotify, htdump, htfuzzy, etc. is located. When I ran the
command patch -p0 < /added-specific-pathto/fileSpace.1 I get a prompt to
enter the
File to patch:
And that's where I'm stuck. If I do a locate for URL.cc I don't get any
results.
you need to get hold of the 3.1.6 source code - probably on sourceforge
in a tar. the aply the patch - don;t worry about the "extra" bits, then
re-compile etc. Sorry,. no time to search for source tar now...
Hallo ,
