I am running Fedora Core 3 and just installed htdig-3.2.0b6-3.FC3.1.
I am running into a few problems after the install.
I set up the htdig.conf file for my web server.
I ran rundig and it didn't report any errors.
I can run htsearch from the command line and I get the results that I
expect from it.
I created a search.html file (I used the example code) and it failed
because it couldn't find the configuration file. I searched the lists
and faqs and found that I needed to place the htdig.conf in /etc. Once I
did that it found the configuration file.
Now when I browse to search.html I am receiving this error:
Unable to read word database file '' <- those are two single quotes
Did you run htdig?
Yes, I ran htdig along with rundig.
In my htdig.conf file I have these two lines along with many others but
these are the only two that I think may be an issue?
database_dir: /var/lib/htdig
common_dir: /usr/share/htdig
The database directory contains these files:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 172032 Mar 22 22:33 db.docdb
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 49152 Mar 22 22:33 db.docs.index
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 434176 Mar 22 22:33 db.excerpts
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 90112 Mar 22 22:05 db.metaphone.db
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 90112 Mar 22 22:05 db.soundex.db
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 495616 Mar 22 22:33 db.words.db
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 16384 Mar 22 22:33 db.words.db_weakcmpr
Common directory did not exist so I created the directory. It is
currently empty. (Should I point it somewhere else?)
I have checked permissions on files and on directories. There should be
no reason that the database is unavailable. All files have at least read
access and all directories are set at 755 rwxr-xr-x.
What else could I be missing?
Thank you.
Jim
