Mike, thanks for the reply. I have tried various versions of sort.exe and also various versions of cygwin1.dll but the problem remains. Strangely I can run sort from the command line and it seems to work OK, ie, from the C:\htdig\bin> prompt: sort -o ../db/db.docs.index ../db/db.wordlist and it creates db.docs.index without complaining. Could it be that htmerge is loading the sort.exe from the windows\system32 directory? I tried deleting or renaming that but it always immediately reappears! A possibly related problem comes when I try to run htfuzzy, it gives me: C:\htdig\bin>htfuzzy -c ../conf/htdig.conf accents 2 [main] htfuzzy 4040 handle_exceptions: Exception: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION 488 [main] htfuzzy 4040 open_stackdumpfile: Dumping stack trace to htfuzzy.exe.stackdump Any help would be much appreciated! -- Graham Hawker | People remember the messenger Marbella Tel/Fax: +34-95-2908182 | But forget the message.
