It might be usable, depending on your needs.  If you need hairy locale
support, then it won't be usable.  If you need wide string functions,
it won't be usable in the near term (and I don't know about the long
term).

Seeing that my hacking time is limited, I'd say this might not work
for you.  libunicode relies heavily ("only") on volunteer time.  For
instance lately it hasn't changed much as I've been hard at work on
other projects which are, for the moment, more important.
