It sure sounds like a compatibility problem to me. Try installing
htdig-3.1.1-1glibc.i386.rpm
instead. That may solve the problem. It was build on a 5.0 system,
whereas the non-glibc version was built on an older 4.2 system, with
libc5.
If that still fails, then try rebuilding from the source rpm. The glibc
and non-glibc src.rpm files are virtually identical, except for the
inclusion of the "glibc" string in the spec file's release number,
so you can recompile from either source rpm.
Do either "rpm --rebuild htdig-3.1.1-1.src.rpm", or
rpm -ivh htdig-3.1.1-1.src.rpm
rpm -bb /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/htdig-3.1.1.spec
The second method will leave the source installed on your system, in
case you need to change anything.
