According to Waldo L. Jaquith:

> htdig: Run complete
> htdig: 1 server seen:
> htdig:     www.cvillemusic.com:80 0 documents

That's really odd! I just set up the following waldo.conf file:
database_dir:           /var/tmp
start_url:              http://www.cvillemusic.com
limit_urls_to:  ${start_url}
max_head_length:        50000
search_algorithm:       exact:1 synonyms:0.5 endings:0.1
server_max_docs:        5

and ran "/usr/sbin/htdig -vvvvvvisc /var/tmp/waldo.conf". It produced
tons of output, and got the maximum of 5 documents I requested. There's
got to be something wrong with the htdig you've built. Maybe try adding
some trace prints here and there to see what it's doing. Did you happen
to get any warnings at link time about "debug" being multiply declared?
I find it very strange that the verbose option, which increments the
debug flag, seems to have no effect on your system.
