I'm still a newbie, so this may be bogus information. We're in the
process of doing the same. We're going to have one start_url which is a
complete listing of every site indexed. We will run this once a week.
Each day, we will have a new_url file which will contain only the sites
to add. It will run nightly. The contents of new_url will then be
appended to start_url. We're hoping this works. Currently, our start_url
takes about 4 hrs to re-dig, so we don't have any big timing issues.
Also, from what I understand, there's no way to purge manually.
