[htdig] What's New?

Can anyone give me an idea of whether the whatsnew contrib script will be
fixed? I don't have the expertise to do this myself, unfortunately, but
given that we already use htdig and need a whatnew feature I don't want to
look at alternatives unless someone can confirm that the script is dead
forever.
