[htdig] Inserting Hits in htsearch

I have an external search w/ranking that I would like to insert into
the output of htsearch, is there a linked list or array that I can
push values on? I would like to get the HTDIG excerpt from the
actual HTML page. Would also like to rank them higher than
the current set.

Any pointers??
