I've successfully compiled ht://Dig 3.1.0b2 through b4 on Red Hat Linux
4.2, 5.0 and 5.1. (I haven't tried 5.2 yet, but don't anticipate any
problems.) If you want, you can grab the following RPMs from my web site:
http://www.scrc.umanitoba.ca/htdig/rpms/htdig-3.1.0b4-0glibc.i386.rpm
http://www.scrc.umanitoba.ca/htdig/rpms/htdig-3.1.0b4-0glibc.src.rpm
They were built on a 5.0 system. If you want to rebuild them on 5.1,
that's easy to do from the source rpm file. The 5.0 binary runs fine
on 5.1, though.
I should warn you that there's a bug in signal handling in vixie-cron
in RHL 5.0 & 5.1, so if you run the rundig script from a cron job, the
htmerge fails with an obscure error. I recommend upgrading to
vixie-cron-3.0.1-26.i386.rpm from the 5.2 distribution or rawhide
distribution.
