I am having difficulties with htdig being unable to build connections to a
server. I am trying to use it on a DEC Alpha running Redhat Linux 5.1 with the
following compiler: gcc version egcs-2.90.29 980515 (egcs-1.0.3 release) I have
even tried my local machines, and have ensured that it was not a problem with
the DNS alias I use for my server by using the real machines name.
Output (verbose) from rundig is as follows (out of box configuration) Note,
this is from version 3.1.0b1 - but I get the same output from the other
versions (listed later)
New server: www.htdig.org, 80
Unable to build connection with www.htdig.org:80
pick: www.htdig.org:80, # servers = 1
htdig: Run complete
htdig: 1 server seen:
htdig: www.htdig.org:80 0 documents
htmerge: Unable to open word list file '/web/www/htdig/db/db.wordlist'
I receive the same results from htdig 3.0.7, 3.0.8b2, and 3.1.0b1. In the
3.0.8b2 version I even tried to ensure the address length variable was type
compatible - the compiler was complaining.
Also, on the same platform, htdig 3.1.0b1 does not compile libht.a The size_t
type on the length variable needs to be changed to unsigned int within the
source file Connection.cc in the htlib directory.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Paul
