Company marks the holidays with silver chads
NEW YORK -- A jewelry company has teamed up with a designer to produce a line of jewelry to mark the ongoing battle over who won the election in Florida.
Just in time for Christmas, sterling silver gifts include a butterfly ballot with hanging chad pendant for $125 or pregnant chad cuff links for $100.

Japanese railway to introduce women-only cars
TOKYO -- Keio Electric Railway has decided to start running "Women Only" cars on Thursday and Friday late evening trains as a test through the holiday season.
"We thought that gropers were a problem and we wanted to try to find a way to deal with them," Keio spokesman Yoshihisa Yamada said Tuesday.

Beijing ranking toilets in preparation for Olympic bid
BEIJING -- In hopes of winning the 2008 Olympic Games, Beijing has begun to rate bathrooms with up to four stars.
It's all part of a two-year renovation plan for 452 public toilets at 305 tourist sites, the state-run newspaper reported Monday.

Time capsule about to be locked away
NEW YORK -- A library card from the Boston Public Library, the alphabet of the Cherokee language and a color photo of the Eagle Nebulae taken by the Hubble space telescope are among the objects that are about to be locked away in a time capsule for 100 years.
The National Millennium Time Capsule will be locked in a climate-controlled room of the National Archives on January 21. Objects to be packed away were chosen by winners of congressional and presidential honors as well as children.
