BRIDGEVILLE, Pennsylvania (AP) -- If an apple can put you in a teacher's good graces, can a bag of groceries get you an "A"? That's apparently what a Pittsburgh high school student was hoping when he gave two of his teachers a discount on their grocery bills.

Gas pain for California man
MURRIETA, California (AP) -- Mike Qutami figures he must have been cooking for an army. He asks how else could he have used nearly $12,000 dollars' worth of natural gas. The Southern Californian says he knows gas prices are going up, but this is ridiculous. His usual gas bill runs about $150 a month.
