Thank you all for your responses so far, but I just want to iterate my "requirements": the designer need not have Perl. the designer need not have web access. the designer need not have FTP access to my web server (most importantly). In other words, I want to be able to send (via email) my designer a bare-boned HTML template that I know works with my cgi script and datasource, that I've filled in with some sample data for them to see, have them be able to design the page in their HTML editor, in a completely static HTML environment, and then have them email me back the template and be able to use it directly, plug and play. All of that is now possible, but requires the designer to be a) intelligent, b) careful and c) aware of some of the intricacies of local variables within loop scope. As always, "a, b, and c. pick two". I'd like to help alleviate some of my concern (and theirs, to be honest).
