Please read http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/httpclient/logging.html and fix your logging configuration. HttpClient makes not assumption about default config of arbitrary logging utilities. Logging is an integral feature of HttpClient, if you like it or not. If you do not care about log output, you are free to disable logging for HttpClient alltogether. Commons-Logging as well as every log implementation provide means to disable or reduce log output. No need to dupe this functionality.
