Folks, I have finished reviewing the code in the COOKIE_2_BRANCH [1] and believe it is good to be merged down to the trunk.
If nobody volunteers to review the changes that I have made to the code in the branch I will go ahead with the merge in a couple of days. There will be plenty of opportunities to review the code when it is in the trunk.
