http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=22940 ------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2006-06-27 20:10 ------- I see your discussion from 2003, and was hoping you could consider compression support again. If your decision was final please just close this bug, and I'll stop bugging you. :) Several default parameters are set for a httpmethod, such as e.g user-agent, which arguably could be set by the addRequestHeader() method. I would really like to be able to enable compression through a parameter too. My patch solves this, and should also be backward compatible. Compression can still be handled manually, but if the compression parameter is used, compression is handled automagically. I agree that compression should not be used automatically, but it would be nice to explicitly enable it. I did expect HTTPClient to support compression, and had to Google a lot to discover that it actually was not supported. I hope you'll consider compression support again, and that my patch is helpful if you decide to change things. -- Configure bugmail: http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
