As far as I know, the browser propagates the session cookies to the
connections opened by the applets on the page. Since browsers (or
Java Plug-ins) do not know about HttpClient, HttpClient remains
ignorant about cookies associated with the applet's web page. We are
in discussions with Sun to extend the Java Plug-in specification...
no we're not, just kidding :-)

That isn't dirty. It's the same thing we would have to do in HttpClient
to get to those cookies.
