Oleg, There is no exception. I get a -1 on the read even the file is not finished. (I have even removed my code that uses a BufferedReader)

When I read the file with no actions taken, then it works, since it manages in under 5 minutes. When I have I/0, as in the case above where I am spitting out each line to standard out as I read it, it dies after 7 minutes 14 seconds. The problem is that I would rather not read such a large file in, yet I do not see a way to process lines as I read them.
