Solved my problem.
By examining the wire log. Discovered that the Base64 encoded
authentication information being sent to the proxy server was not proper.
Which made me suspect that the changes I made to JCIFSEngine.java were not
correct.
I am now using:
Type3Message t3m = new Type3Message(
t2m,
password,
domain,
username,
workstation,
Type3Message.getDefaultFlags());
All is well.
